General observations from our AGC Rec 1 avalanche course groups traveling around the Independence Mine valley area. Red flags today include 1 Whumpf on Microdot and the 2 skier triggered avalanches above Cold Cord lake noted in the avalanche section. Several snow pits throughout our groups had varying results of ECTN’s and 3 having ECTP-moderate-hard results all on the weak facet layer about 30cm from the ground. Ridgetop winds started to transport snow around 3pm.
