We could see blowing snow at upper elevations, and I found one steep drifted slope where a sledder had triggered shooting cracks in a wind drift, a couple inches deep. I could not get any of the shallow drifts that I stomped on to crack.

Snow conditions are variable and wind-jacked at upper elevations, but the snow is stable and the avalanche danger LOW currently in Logan's White Pine Canyon.

Snowpack

Only a few inches of new snow from midweek, and it was hammered by NW winds. On many slopes all the new snow was scoured off. Other slopes had interesting wave pattern satstugi. I found areas where a wind crust had formed above weak sugary snow, and in areas where the wind decelerated there were stiff drifts several inches deep. In most areas the snow was varied, inconsistent, and obviously well tracked out after a month and a half of dry weather.
