Quick report
-Dirt/gravel trail or boot packed icy trail up to Crystal Ford at 4100', 6" of snow at about 4500'. Snow depths deepened quickly from about 1' at 5000' to 2-3' at 5500'. Snow depth at the Chalet (6500') was 5-6'. -Wet snow surfaces in the sunshine all the way to 6000+' elevation, but ski pen. only 1-3". Temps dropping rapidly at sundown with a supportable melt-freeze crust forming on the surface. -Heavy rime in the alpine terrain. Winds looked calm up there with no blowing or drifting snow. Just some falling ice from frozen waterfalls on sunny aspects that were getting baked and bleached by the sun. No wet loose or rollerball activity observed today, but I may have missed it, I didn't make it up above 6000' till mid-afternoon.

-Patchy valley fog gave way to mostly clear skies above 4000'. A few high clouds building up in afternoon that would occasionally obscure terrain above 9000'. -Calm winds and well-above freezing temperatures during the day.

Widespread wet loose activity above 5000' from earlier this week on sunny aspects (D1s to D2). Did not observe any avalanches running today. The WL activity did trigger a couple slabs (D1 to D2.5) which appeared to be failing on the Jan 6th/7th storm interface. I did not see any crowns that looked like they failed on an older persistent weak layer from Dec.
