Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
We encountered minimal impact from wind on the ridge of Dorothy. It was overcast and snowed on and off for most of the day. Below freezing all day. We were aware of the persistent weak layer from the December rain and were skiing moderately. Not aggressive. We did not dig a pit on our tour. There was about 8 inches of fresh, soft snow on top of a firmer layer. We did not see any other avalanches. We did not experience any sluffing or whoomping. The convexity we skied over leading to the slide was the only indication of instability that we experienced.
