Quick report
Good day to get out and see where the snow is sitting in starting zones. I like to get out early season to see the slight off aspects that might hold more old snow and use this information for terrain selection and planning throughout the season.
Snowpack
Noted some surface faceting on protected north facing slopes. About an inch +/- of weaker feathery crystals in wind protected un-skied areas. South and west facing slopes were softening up and melting with a breakable surface crust in the AM hours that was very springlike.
