- <p>snow got transported last night and today. Put in a ski cut on a couple smaller steep slopes with a windslab. low sample size but wind slabs did not seem sensitive to me. Most aspects have denser snow already. A guess would be more sensitive north slopes where underlying snow is softer (I avoided a n facing cross loaded windslabs)</p>
Snowpack
been staying mostly above 8000' so below is geared to that. I saw a fair bit of surface facets Saturday especially lower in drainage. Today I did not. Surface facets either cooked monday or got blown away tues night. Still some surface facets noted in drainge bottoms, mellow angle, n facing. Snow has settled a lot since Thursday. Dug a pit yesterday argenta 8250' north. very boring/ very strong, no lemons. no fracture.
I looked at some ene facing crust that probably formed Monday (heat) 1to 2 cm thick 8800', I did not see any facets under crust, but seemed bit weak in bonding with fist snow underneath (been trying to learn about crust n facets). Dug a pit yesterday 8200 argenta, very boring no instability noted very strong.
