Snowpack
5cm of new snow from the previous 24 hours. This snow was sitting on a thin suncrust on E-S aspects and facets on N aspects.
Facets from January's extended drought period are widespread and sitting beneath 5-15cm of snow from the past several days. We got propagation in a pit at 10,200 feet. This occured on facets (mixed forms) down 15cm. The pit location had previous wind loading, and the slab that failed was 5cm thick.
Solar input was warming surfaces by mid morning with rollerballs observed, but only involving the 5cm/2" of new snow.
Tracks were observed in a wide variety of steep terrain with no visbile avalanche activity.
