Increasingly large whumphs and propagation in test pits. We got significant snowfall while we were out there and saw increasing signs of instability in the snowpack. Early on we were getting frequent small whumphs in terrain on W, N & E aspects and on flats around 7.5k-8.5k.' On our exit from Huckleberry we got many big whumphs on W, N, E and flats in similar elevations.

Mostly cloudy and snowy weather with some sunny days between storms. Light rain at 6880' on 2/8. First storm dropped ~35cm 2/9-2/12 and second also ~35cm 2/17-2/19. Cold temps (-27*C) night of 2/19.

Snowpack

We got propagation in many pits dug on E-ENE aspects at 7800' on 2/18-- ECTP7-27 44-55cm below the surface on large surface hoar in three out of six pits, ECTNs in three pits on the same layer and a PST 35/100 end (only PST performed). There were also ECTNs ~25cm down in most pits between storm layers, we suspect on very small surface hoar. We also found a weird combo of crust above surface hoar on a W aspect at 7900' (see photo).
