Quick report

Coverage is a challenge below 7500', with much of the approach still brushy and parts of the Valley Trail/Taggart Lake showing bare dirt. Above 7500' there was some smooth skiing for a few turns where things had warmed up, but by 8000' there is a stout crust. This crust was variable in supportability and how icy it skied, with patches near trees being more supportable to the weight of skiing but not great for getting traction with ski edges.

Snowpack

A snow pit at 8100' showed overall stability in the snowpack, with an extended column test resulting in ECTX. A facet layer is still present at the bottom of the snowpack and the crust formed at the surface of the snowpack will be interesting to watch with the incoming storm.
