Quick report
We did not observe any recent avalanches or signs of instability. We dug two pits and found buried surface hoar in both. The first pit was on a north aspect at middle elevation. Surface hoar was 55 cm down and elicited an ECTX in our stability test. The second pit was an upper elevation south with the buried surface down 35 cm. The snow above this layer was an older wind slab. Results were replicated at ECTP 4 x2 Snow was falling all day with 2-3 inches on the vehicles at the trailhead.
