Quick report
Went for an easy tour to assess the snowpack post storm. Weather was fairly decent at the parking lot, about 37 degrees with the sun poking through and no precipitation when we started at 1pm. From Center Ridge Parking lot to ~1500 ft was a breakable raincrust that transitioned to softer snow above 1500. No red flags were observed. Dug 2 snowpits— first pit at 1780 ft., W, 24 degree slope angle, at 2:45pm; second pit at 2100 ft, SSW, 35 degree angle, at 4:45pm. First pit was unreactive for ECT and CT tests. Second pit showed reactivity at the old snow/new snow interface (CTX and ECTN18 @ 65 cm). Skiing sucked. Snow came in the late afternoon and turned to rain below 1200ft. Didn’t even bother transitioning to board mode for the way out. Hoping the weather continues to heal the snowpack so we can get some better skiing in soon!
