- <p>After performing 4 ECT tests in four different snow pits, we consistently saw Q1-Q2 fractures on the persistent weak layer that consisted of basal facets. These facets do have some structure and bonding, but we saw consistent failures on this layer 40-60cm from the snow surface on the north side of the compass. As we performed these tests, we did have multiple occasions of whoomping and settling as we walked around.</p>
