Quick report
After our early Feb cold snap, it is back to business as usual with large swings in temps and precip accumulation. Backcountry travel was extremely safe with no observations of current or recent avalanche activity on steeper slopes. Zero. Zip. Snowpack super locked up. Despite high temps and sun, no wet / soft activity on our slopes.

Snowpack
A few inches of new-ish snow over 8" of snow that was clearly affected by the atmospheric river from 1.5 weeks ago. Refreeze of this made for brutal digging. Below that is our nice early Feb snow which has consolidated into 1F to P hardness. Below that is a very soft layer of rounded facets. We dug 10 pits and got consistent CTH results at 75cm down on that soft layer. One motivated crew did an ECT which failed and slid off at 5 taps. Bring the 1m Tindeq saw, or a saw you can put on a pole for that ECT back cut! Good learning was had by all.
