Quick report

We got a close look at the crowns of four recent human-triggered avalanches on Seattle Ridge. Each avalanche was 12-18" deep on average, and every one failed on a layer of buried surface hoar. One snowboarder triggered a similar avalanche while we were out. They were caught, carried, deployed an airbag and ended up on top of the debris.

We are getting clear signs that the snowpack is dangerous. Conditions are expected to get worse as we look at another round of active weather heading into the weekend.

One group triggered an avalanche while we were out. The snowboarder was caught, carried, deployed an airbag and ended up on top of the debris uninjured.
