Sunburst

At 2200' we did a CT on a west facing slope on the uptrack below the ridgeline; CT22 Q3 within a series of crusts buried 30-50 cm deep. Total snowheight about 100cm at that location. Moist snow near ground. Stout crust from 900' to 1900', where the snow quickly transitions to dry snow at 2000', lightening with elevation and wind exposure. Crust melted by 4pm and made for a pleasant ski out. Firm wind crusts forming on ridgelines, some sastrugi near Taylor Pass. Cornices were not particularly sensitive or strong. Dense powder near ridgelines, lightens as we descended. Skied west to southwest exposures, not cracking or whumpfs observed in our party. Was surpirsed with the depth of snowpack on Sunburst ridge ski-lines which are usually more rocky this time of year. Many glides cracks to navigate. 1 other parties noted surface conditions worsening on Pastoral, with wind crusts forming. Another party noted pinwheels forming in the lower alpine of Sunburst below 2800'.
