Quick report
Overall, there is minimal avalanche hazard in the west fork drainage especially on the south and west aspects due to a lack of snow. Access into the upper elevation north facing terrain that is holding snow looks to be extremely difficult at the moment.
No signs of instability were noted, however, we did not travel through avalanche terrain today.

Very warm day temps with a high of 45 at noon at 6000'. Broken warm clouds around the highest peaks with rain likely at times to upper elevation. Little to no wind was observed.
Snowpack
There is very little snow on the ground in the mountains surrounding the west fork drainage. Compared with similar elevations in the north fork of the salmon near Gibbonsville, there is much less snow in the Sula/Connor mountains. Only the highest portions of Trapper and Boulder Peak have enough snow for D2 avalanches. South slopes are near bare up to 7700' or roughly the same elevation as the Boulder Pt Lookout.
From an avalanche perspective, the snowpack is developing a crust on all aspects due to the warm temps and upper elevation rain. With two more days of warm temperatures before the next snow event, how stout this crust will become is uncertain.
