Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
During a tour of the Glenn lake area, we took runs to the W to Hidden lake, E toward Glenn lake, and down the Northeast shoulder below Glenn lakes. We did not dig a pit. We had some very isolated cracking during skinning, but nothing deeper than the top 8", and nothing that propagated more than a ski length. No collapsing of concern. Snow was present and pretty strong down to low elevations. In fact, we joked that there was enough supportable low elevation snow that we weren't getting an adequate Bitterroot survival skinning/skiing experience. Although we didn't step out into avalanche terrain, it seemed like snow was about as stable as could be expected given the 2" of SWE and wind last week.
