Slab Cliffs

We went to Slab Cliffs in the Incline Lake Peak area today.  Cold temperatures with sunny skies greeted us this morning with gradual warming throughout the day at this elevation.  Snow quality remained cold and unconsolidated on shaded aspects throughout the day.  We traveled through previously wind loaded areas and observed no signs of instabilities in these areas.  Warming throughout the day was somewhat gradual with wet and sticky snow developing on E-SE aspects by midday below 9000'.  Along the higher ridges and peaks, colder conditions were present with less warming and wet snow.  We did see small roller balls that were skier triggered on steeper E-SE aspects below 8800' in the early afternoon.
