Snowpack
We made observations in the Tamarack Peak area today. We dug a snowpit on a North aspect to look at how the Dec 12 pwl and basal facets were reacting to the additional load over the last week. Snowpack layering and tests did not show unstable results and these layers look to be adjusting to the increased load. We also looked at a wind slab avalanche that occurred on late Thursday night/early Friday morning in the Corner Pocket area to the south of Proletariat Bowl. We had an ECTP fail on this wind slab that was still showing weakness. Snow surface conditions were wet surface snow that became sticky and slow below around 9300'.
