Quick report
- Cracking
- specific
The storm produced 8 inches (20 cm) of light snow, featuring a thin crust at the bottom and a rime crust located 5 inches (13 cm) below the surface. We observed some cracking in the wind-blown snow near the summit; however, no slides were triggered while stomping around. The rime crust was thin and only produced noise while skiing. The new slab exhibited low cohesion, with Extended Column Test (ECTN) results of 8 and 9, and large column tests showed no propagation on the basal facets from 11/20. We stomped on the steep East slope at the summit which produced some cracking.
