Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

Tried to get out to 3 WA lookout sites & ended up visiting 2 due to distance. - Conditions were low tide around Indian Mountain/Diamond Patrol. Came in via Kalispel Cr Rd from Priest Lk. Snow was fresh heavy pow. Lots of exposed brush. - Conditions were low tide near South Baldy too. Came in via Kings Lake Sno-Park. Lots of exposed deadfall up ridges made short cutting road a slog in snowshoes/boots. Fresh dry powder on top was <3” over a pencil hard base. Crampons on snowshoes were necessary, even though snow was boot supportive. Areas on section of road were under 6” deep in almost all areas. Roads were drivable to a point in Subaru CrossTrek, but got stuck several times during trip. Needed to use shovel and chains to get back on to established track.
