-
The snow pack continues to grow weak with each cold clear night and the avalanche hazard will get very interesting when real winter returns.

A nice day to get out for a walk or ride on the snow with about 16-18" in Whitney Basin around Double Hill. It is thin and many rocks and stumps are just barely covered, but find some nice low angle areas and it is worth getting out for a few hours.
Still needing a fair amount of snow to get the season going, but it has been slowly filling in some of the terrain on Double Hill. You might find a tired piece of wind drifted snow along the ridgeline, but things felt pretty quiet and unreactive.

-
No real avalanche problem currently out there with generally a low hazard. With some effort a person might find a rogue and tired piece of wind drifted snow that might crack around you.

A variety of surface snow conditions today, with mostly loose faceted snow and some old tired wind drifted snow along the shoulder of Double Hill.
