Red Flags
Poor Snowpack Structure

Great skiing. I am not very familiar with willow Fork, but I was surprised by how thin the snow pack was on this west facing sub ridge: probably 60cm HS very weak facets to the ground with maybe a 10cm supportable wind crust based on pushing pole handle through. Struck a chord given the recent dialogue regarding moving from considerable to moderate as being largely a function of snow pack depth. Made me wonder about thin pockets in upper LCC/BCC given this fairly large feature with the ground still so close to the snow surface.
