- Poor Snowpack Structure
Went out today to explore what the southerly aspect was looking like. With the cold temps and shallow snow pack, it appears that southerly aspects have started to facet at the base of the snow pack at higher elevations. Southerly aspects at mid elevations developing a crust on top. I couldn't help but notice the Northerly aspects and shaded aspects at mid to upper elevations have increasing surface hoar development.
