Quick report

Cracking
specific

We started skinning from Old Mammoth Rd around 11am. About 4” inches of snow had already fallen that morning and the storm was raging on. We set out to ski trees and remained below tree line. There was cracking on N aspects between 8600-9500ft as we set the skin track, about a 5” storm slab, breaking on the rain crust from the night before. We traveled cautiously given the new snow and wind, and encountered several small soft slab avalanches on the ski down. In the pit, we found fist hard snow (80-95cm) above the rain crust at 80cm.
