Entered East Bowl run from the ridge a few hundred vertical below the summit. Performed a horizontal ski cut to test the slope, and a 10 in deep soft slab broke at the old snow-new snow interface beneath my edge and propagated about 40 feet wide. I let the avalanche run and rode safely back to the ridge.
