Quick report

The group observed mostly fist hard weak snow to ground for the majority of the tour. Structure for a slab avalanche was not apparent until the group reached the shoulder. The greatest hazard as stated in other observations was the lack of any solid snow to separate you from the boulders.

Snowpack

Class dug pits 30' ft above the crown of the avalanche on the lower angle shoulder before the face. It became apparent that the structure for the avalanche was not existent in the snowpit location. ~30cm of storm snow on top of a thin 1f layer of buried wind board followed by advanced facets. Tests in these pits were uneventful as the snow was simply too weak and compressed.
