Quick report
No significant recent avalanche activity was observed. A few small dry loose sluffs had run on steeper terrain including a run we skied.

A mostly cloudy day with the sun breaking through at regular intervals. Calm winds. Very light snowfall. Temperatures were just below freezing at lower elevations and in the mid 20s F at ridgetops. Our area lacked signs of recent wind loading at all elevations and on all aspects. Recent storm snow depth was 10cm down low with 22cm recorded at 4800 feet. Surface snow was dry at all elevations.
Snowpack
Below 1500 feet the snowpack was shallow with poor structure but good stability. The upper snowpack contained 10cm of dry storm snow on top of the most recent rain crust. Deeper layers included buried windboard, faceted snow, and additional old rain crusts. Above 1500 feet structure begins to improve with rain crusts begining to disappear. Above 2500 feet there is a consolidated homogenous snowpack with limited weak layers or layers of concern in the upper meter. The exception to this was a 10 cm layer of dry/loose that was failing at a density change within the past storm snow. Test results on this layer included ECTN 2 @10cm down. We were able to produce small/medium sluffs on this layer while riding steeper terrain. Aside from the reactivity in the top 10cm of dry storm snow, good stability, and consistent snow conditions were observed at upper elevations in the maritime zone today.
