Quick report

Signs of instability were not present, as they are currently in the mid elevation band of the intermountain zone.  However the December drought created facets here as well that were showing unstable results in stability tests.  The set up and structure is different but the end result of a weak layer is the same.

Snowpack

Found a thin snowpack with only a foot near sea level.  Snow depth gradually bult to around a meter by 1000'.  The rain crust from the 1/11 warmup went up to ~1200' and had 6 inches of new snow on top from today.  beneath the 1/11 raincrust there was 1.5 feet of snow that fell over the last 12 days.  This new snow is sitting on facets above a thick rain crust.  These facets produced moderate results with propagation in ECT tests and PST tests. (see snow profile for more details.
