Quick report
Although we found a recent D1 wind slab avalanche in Hell Hole today, we also saw no signs of current instabilities with formal and informal tests. Snow on shaded slopes remained cold and dry, but tree bombs began falling as the day warmed. Sunny slopes got moist on the surface by noon, with roller balls initiating near rocks. Winds were calm to light, with no current wind transport observed.
We saw a recent, natural wind slab avalanche in Hell Hole, with only a dusting of new snow on top of the debris. The same path slid on Monday, but that debris was no longer visible. Test slopes and snowpack tests did not indicate instability.Weather
