Highly variable snow cover in this area, ranging from bare ground to up to 30cms in leeward areas. In many areas, underlying bushes and rocks are still visible, however, there are also many areas where underlying terrain is completely covered. A melt freeze crust of varying thickness and supportability was present near the surface on most solar aspects; small facets are present above and below this crust. Snowpack on N aspects is weak and faceted throughout. Most steeper S aspects lack snow cover.
