Quick report
It was a busy day in the Alpental backcountry today, with 12+ people arriving at the entrance of the Diver within a span of fifteen minutes or so. Skiing was generally poorer than I expected, with plenty of crusty snow even on north aspects at relatively high elevations. We didn't see any signs of instability, but the wind picked up dramatically as the day went on, with the Melakwa Lake Valley having substantial snow transport and probably sustained 30+ mph winds. We also saw a decent amount of groupel.
