We went up to Ashman Ridge today. Strong sustained NW winds at ridge top (70+ km/hr). We did not ski the back bowl. Significant snow transport and loading on all southerly and south-easterly aspects. A hasty pit at treeline on a south aspect showed no particular planar break in the top 50cm. Wind slabs were forming with a spotty crust layer above treeline.
