Quick report

A few more clouds and a little more wind than I anticipated kept the temperatures a bit colder on Red Lake Peak this morning. The sun was still strong enough to melt the surface snow and the refrozen crust (at least below ~9400' where I checked it) was about 3" thick above still wet snow. There were consistent moderate south winds above ~9000' that also kept snow surface temperatures a little cooler. While still enjoyable the snow surface on south and east aspects is getting more textured in this area. Coverage is much better on more shaded slopes.
