Quick report
Dug on the upper reaches of Monument Peak, outside the Heavenly boundary, at 9600' on a NE aspect. I wanted to look at both the surface facets, and the crust facet combinations in the upper snowpack. I found similar structure to what has been found elsewhere, with no big surprises. I targeted several of these facets with PSTs, but didn't find any overly concerning results. The surface facets are by far the weakest, and I attempted to target these with a modified ECT where I created an artificial slab atop the surface. I did get failure at the surface facets in this modified test in the hard (21-30) range, but no propagation; however, my fake slab still lacked cohesiveness.
