Quick report
Wonderful day out skiing pineapple pass and Denny Trees. Lots of new snow with high water content. Skied all the way down to Denny creek and then back to pineapple pass. At lower elevations (<4200 ft) the wet snow, combined with a very slick crust caused numerous sluffalanches and small slab runs. The wet snow entrained other snow. This was mostly an issue on convex rollovers over 35-40 degrees or steep gullies. Overall hot pow but great ski conditions. Precipitation changed from snow to snain to rain by the end of the day. When we were ascending pineapple pass we also noticed a firmer buried wind slab from older snow on climbers right. During hand pits it failed in a stubborn but planar manner.
Avalanche
Saw numerous D0.5 wet loose sluffalanches in the Denny Trees area. They were from both natural (tree bombs) and human sources. Ran easily on solar aspect melt-freeze crusts.
