Windy (15-20mph) out of the West/South. Cold temperatures.
Snowpack
Sugar snow (8-10in) underlying hard slab layer, with unconsolidated powder snow above, many avalanches ran on hard layer, but no step downs past the hard layer. Widespread avalanche activity on steep, wind-loaded, North facing terrain. Column test failed after first hit from the shoulder, block test failed after repeated jumps from one skier.
