On the first clear day after 2 days of strong wind and heavy snow riders descending an east facing slope remotely triggered a large avalanche on a primarily north facing established slide path at mid elevation. The avalanche broke along the ridge line approximately 50’ to the left of the closest skier and no cracking/collapsing /slide activity was observed extending around the ridge line into the skiers decent path. The crown was approximately 150 - 200’ wide and appeared to run to its annual maximum. Skiers noted collapsing on low angle E-NE facing slopes exposed to strong sun and notable wind effect along ridge lines while ascending.
