Quick report
Paradise area, ~10 am: surface hoar up to about treeline, but it quickly dissipated above there. The snow from a couple days ago (5~7 cm) was dry and sugary in the morning. Camp Muir, ~1230 pm: strong wind out of the W/SW above 9000' was transporting snow. Ski pen varied from 0 to ~7 cm for wind scoured or loaded areas, respectively. Could feel some firmer wind slabs on the lee aspects of the rolls on the west side of the snowfield, so stayed off the steeper/convex areas. Nisqually Chute, ~1 pm: slight sun crust in the top couple hundred vertical feet, but not enough to make skiing very difficult. Below that was 5~7 cm of snow that was just starting to warm up--buttery texture, but not nearly wet enough for any wet slide problems--on top of an older firm crust. Could see shedding off the rocks around the chute from yesterday.
