Quick report

A quiet late morning near the Commonwealth trailhead, then joyful lap-skinning at West/Central through the afternoon. Stout breeze just before 10am in the ski-area easily moving snow and scouring the groomers. In the trees along the PCT adjoining the Pass, surprisingly calm and warm. Sunbreaks were welcome and only the occasional swirl of wind mixed down and gently knocked the snow from the trees. Luge-tracks were firm and well-developed but edgeable. Through the afternoon and evening, winds easily transported snow, but there was little left to transport. Inbounds, wind-scoured and icy east-coast conditions caught some seemingly by surprise, leading to short uncontrolled falls/slides on the Summit's steeper mogul-runs. After dusk, scoured and scraped groomers yielded challenging skinning as they refroze. Didn't see any obvious D1 or larger slabs when reviewing images this evening from throughout the pass.
