Started skinning at 4500ft with an inch or two of fresh snow over ~12" hard pack. Below 5000ft new snow bonded well with hard pack. Between 5k and 6k new snow levels were up to 8"-10" in open areas, with poor bonding to hard pack. On slopes greater than 45deg, loose new snow would slide easily and propagate. Multiple small slides were triggered intentionally and unintentionally. Hard pack holds a good edge. Turned around at 6k, roughly the end of the tree line; kick turns up steeper slopes were triggering lots of small slides.
