Snowpack

Instability Comment

Isolated Wind Slabs as discussed above are obvious and easily avoidable in steep consequential terrain. Caution still needed for early season obstacles despite good early season cover. .

Winds and minimal new snow from the latest event helped erase some old tracks but not all, Where old tracks still exist riding conditions variable, HS: 75cm with HN: 5 cm; Facet growth from top down ranges from 5 cm to at least 10 cm and greater in many locations, Still concern for future loading on Obvious NSF's, SH, FC on off aspects, and especially in thin snow covered rocky areas; Riding still excellent in untracked terrain on aspects on the upper half of the compass. Wind effected terrain widespread in the Upper Elevation exposed terrain and stout m/f crusts on solars that have slope angles 20 degrees and greater.
