Snowpack
All the way up to the weather station, the snow surface was damp where it was previously faceted loose. Ski penetration was never more than 5-10 cms, and the surface snow was easily packed into a snowball. We found some mostly intact surface hoar on indicator hill on the way up, but the edges had all melted down, and the crystals looked quite rounded. Those same crystals were utterly destroyed soon after when the rain picked up.
