- <p>Went to check out the Mt Magog avalanche that likely occurred Sat night/Sun morning. Noticed a few other shallow slab avalanches in Rock Bowl but not too much else. Riders have stayed off the big steep slopes like Cornice Ridge - a good sign that the message is getting out. Most of the larger natural avalanches that occurred during this past cycle appear to have failed on buried NSF about 2-4' deep. Most were also wind slabs. </p>
Overall the snowpack seems to be stabilizing. I would hesitate to jump on any steep wind-loaded slope for at least a few more days though.
Snowpack
Snow was mostly deep, light powder minus where it was wind or sun-affected. S slopes had a measurable sun crust while more shaded slopes held softer snow. Very deep but supportable riding conditions both on sleds and skis.
