Red Flags
Collapsing

We rode several Southeast through northeast slopes on the West Bench on Wednesday and Thursday below 6000 feet. There has been a significant amount wind this week and most slopes are a combination of wind buff or scoured down to hard crusts. We had a couple of small wind slabs break loos on very steep rollovers on an east facing slope. Yesterday we had several heart stopping collapses on an east facing slope at around 5500 in elevation. The slope had a large amount of wind deposited snow but was not steep enough to slide.
