Red Flags Comment

No significant red flags noted.

Here are a couple good examples of the snowpack in the generally east facing Garden City Bowls. The first was on a east-northeast facing slope at around 8400', the second a bit lower (8000') and on a southeast facing slope, with much shallower old snow.

Snow laden trees indicating a good deal of still cold new snow and little wind in this area. Very nice powder conditions with a view of the turquoise-blue Bear Lake in the background.

Instability Comment

There are a couple buried weak layers consisting of small sugary grains called facets, but my tests show petty good stability lacking a adhering slab.

Good powder conditions in the morning, but got a little heavier, especially in sunny areas in the afternoon.
