Quick report
Take this with a grain of salt, as I'm not the most experienced column digger. But here are some findings: - Lots of fluffy snow under the heavier top snow. - Snowpack on top of the Tumalo Bowl 245cm. (96.5") - Ice layer 105cm deep from the base that didn't seem to create instability (41" from the base). - The first column went at CT4, though the column was pretty poorly cut. - The second column test went at CT20 30 cm slab, at 220 cm from the base, and CT30 88cm slab at 152cm from the base. The bottom line: the snowpack didn't seem terribly unstable, but if it goes, there's a chance of triggering a 35" deep slab down. I didn't do an extended column test, so I'm not sure how easily the layers propagate.
