Spotted a widely propagating, assumed to be natural avalanche on the north aspect of West Desolation Ridge. It appeared that a cornice chunk triggered a storm slab which stepped down to the persistent weak layer.
New snow seemed poorly bonded, but otherwise no cracking or collapsing in the area. No pits dug.
