We took the usual route up to Microdot. and noticed wind effect on yesterday's new snow. A range of 2-8+ inches of new dry snow were found on mid/high elevations. More so as you gained elevation. Amounts were very aspect dependant too. Northern aspects seemed to have collected more snow on areas where is blown in. Temp in the 20s F in the Independece Mine parking lot at 930am. Sunny with clouds bulding in the early afternoon hours when we left. By our exit time all but shaded or protected north faces were cooking and my best guess the heat has gotten to even north faces later in the day if trend continued Dug a pit and found a poor structure on a WSW aspect at 3800ft. We measured about 170cm deep with about 30cm layer of depth hoar. Results: CT 3- 8cm down (RES) 20- 12 cm down (BRK) 28- 18cm down. (RES) ECTN 7 (8cm down), 21 (12 cm down), 27 (45cm down)
Avalanche
Seems like most if not all avalanches seen by our party today were from last avalanche cycle. However on one observed on Rae Wallace draw my suspicion on being potentially on the last snowfall. Photo will be included but terrain and shade made hard to see the debries
