Quick report
Good stability and an overall shallow snowpack was observed today. We rode sleds up to Sonora Pass and went for a tour into the BWRA / PCT crossing area. While skinning up my partner put it best, "it feels like we are walking on sand". We encountered a shallow and weak snowpack throughout our day today. The snow that fell during the Thanksgiving storms has been slowly faceting out across our observation area. A hand or a ski pole could easily be pushed into the snow. We were anticipating more wind board and surface crusts, yet we did not find much crust on the Eastern or Northern aspects. The wind blew small amounts of snow around and we noticed that our skin track was partially filled with snow at the end of our tour.

Mostly clear skies, increasing wind throughout the day. Above freezing daytime temperatures.
Snowpack
North and East Aspects in and around Sonora Pass held a mostly faceted snowpack. South aspects in the area had a strong surface crust. The average snowpack depth was shallow 40-70cm's.
